Hundreds of parents, classmates, teachers and officials gathered together to listen to thoughtful speeches from students about recycling. Each team was tasked with speaking for 3 minutes about how to reduce, reuse and recycle one item, such as plastic or wood. After each speech, judges asked students questions about their topics for two minutes before deliberating. Students came more than prepared, with posters, PowerPoints, props, skits and scripts that wowed the audience and judges alike.
The contest began with more than 4,000 students taking an online English test about recycling. Then several hundred of the top students interviewed with DYB teachers before the top 4 students from each school were chosen. With the help of their school and DYB teachers, each team worked diligently to prepare their script.
The jury commented on the presentation of the team
In the end, just one team won the grand prize of 20,000,000VND, but every contestant was a winner with their great performance. Each finalist received a scholarship from DYB as well.
